What’s in your head, zombie?

I made a journal over the 24hours I was on guard duty since yesterday.
…The file ended up corrupted >__<

Note to self: Email documents to yourself as backup before moving the original soft copy around

Anyway, no entry today because my mind’s a little blank. I’ll post something under music though.

Recently, I had the opportunity to find out what the title of this particular song was. It’s an old song and I remember listening to it long ago. I loved the chorus. Sadly enough, I have this ability to not find out what the titles of songs are when they’re played on radio.

So I was with the rest of the guys, Justus driving us round when the song came up on his Pod. Turns out it’s

Zombie by The Cranberries.

Looked up the music video and the lyrics and I found more reason to like the song. It’s putting forth a powerful message. If it’s not evident in the tone of the music and the vocals itself, then I think the music video gives it all away. A quick check online and basically everyone else agrees.

Another head hangs lowly,
Child is slowly taken.
And the violence caused such silence,
Who are we mistaken?

But you see, it’s not me, it’s not my family.
In your head, in your head they are fighting,
With their tanks and their bombs,
And their bombs and their guns.
In your head, in your head, they are crying…

In your head, in your head,
Zombie, zombie, zombie,
Hey, hey, hey. What’s in your head,
In your head,
Zombie, zombie, zombie?
Hey, hey, hey, hey, oh, dou, dou, dou, dou, dou…

Another mother’s breakin’,
Heart is taking over.
When the vi’lence causes silence,
We must be mistaken.

It’s the same old theme since nineteen-sixteen.
In your head, in your head they’re still fighting,
With their tanks and their bombs,
And their bombs and their guns.
In your head, in your head, they are dying…

In your head, in your head,
Zombie, zombie, zombie,
Hey, hey, hey. What’s in your head,
In your head,
Zombie, zombie, zombie?
Hey, hey, hey, hey, oh, oh, oh,
Oh, oh, oh, oh, hey, oh, ya, ya-a…

  1. Omg! You know what you need?? That Midomi application for the new iPod touch and iPhone! All you have to do is hum a few tunes, sing the lyrics, or put the device near the radio and it’ll find out WHAT SONG IT IS. Well awesome.

Omg serious? o_o That thing exists? My dreams have been answered! Now… now to wait and get my iPhone, heh.

      @Manda-manda:
Haha Irish powah. Have you heard her solo work? Not too bad.
