Chosen Land: Three

You know what’s ironic? I was terribly sick on the third day of the trip, just as I am right now, with the very same symptoms! I pretty much had to stop taking photos, or doing anything for that matter, around 2PM that day, so no photos of dinner because I was back in bed in a state of stupor, trying to fall asleep.

“At The Gala (20% Cooler/Sim Gretina Remix)”

What I did was put all the pony fan music into a playlist, shuffled it and hit play. First song that made me hit replay gets to be featured and this was it. What can I say, At The Gala is a great song (they all are), this is just 20% cooler. Rarity has best singing voice. The comments are funny too, haha.

Day Three

Rousing from my sleep, I knew something was wrong. I could feel it. I kept my eyes closed and just laid there for a while, listening to my room-mate going about her business. Slowly, I began to try and figure out what it was. Starting with my arms and legs, I moved them a little and felt them throb with a deep ache, aside from feeling exceptionally heavy. Maybe it’s from yesterday’s trip to the volcano. I admit not doing a whole amount of stretching prior or after the activity.

Figuring it was just me being sore and nothing else, I hesitantly opened my eyes, glad for the room being dimly lit. Sitting up, I cleared my throat and then knew that I wasn’t simply experiencing muscle aches.

Swallowing hurt. It was a familiar pain, because I get it more frequently than most others do. A sore throat, from swollen tonsils. Hoping it’s merely due to lack of water, I got ready and headed for breakfast.

Suffered the South East Asian dilemma of seeing mostly oily foods. Had they served cereal and milk for their morning buffet spreads, I would have gladly taken it. Alas, I ended up with this. I was told the pancakes were dry, which made me sad because I was hoping they’d be moist enough for consumption (though I’m more of a waffle person myself.) I forced whatever was left down my throat, focusing mainly on the soup and drinking.

After this brief and painful necessity, we returned to the drug store from yesterday to grab some lozenges for my throat and a bottle of water. Flagged a cab to head to the Planetarium afterward and as it turns out, the driver had no idea where it was. Wouldn’t you normally know such things as a cab driver? Even the address didn’t help much, so we assumed it to be near the Museum. My headache was getting exponentially worse with each passing minute, so I just went with the flow of things.

The museum was still closed and sported no indication of any planetarium whatsoever, so we decided to just give a call… but the person who answered seemed to only speak Filipino. Out of better options, we moved our schedule forward and headed to the Ocean Park.

And that was it, kept my camera and focused on just moving about. I took videos of the jellyfish display, which was really beautiful (though I hope they weren’t stressed from all the lights) but I’m having a hell of a time trying to transcode them into a format I can work with that I just gave up. I somewhat know what to do with any future videos I take with a Canon now. Owning a 5D MkII must be really fun in so many ways, especially with the video options but haha, I can forget about owning one. Photography is expensive enough as it is.

My friend was smart enough to take a few photos of the jellies, so you’ll get to see them in the last post.

You know what sucks the most that day? The schedule was for that night to be a drinking night and you know how cheap alcohol is overseas compared to Singapore! Oh vodka, what could have been…

Still anxiously awaiting for my enrollment package from NYP to come in. I received RP’s one already and just breezed through it to get a sense of what I need to do. I really hope I get it by tonight or at most tomorrow because there are submission and payment deadlines I have to keep in mind. Still not entirely thrilled at the offered course but meh.

Wondering if I should sell my PS3 games since I’m highly likely not to buy another console. They won’t fetch a lot but hey, better than nothing and it’s best before they depreciate in value even more. I’m still keeping my BD movies though — they look and sound absolutely beautiful, and that’s just with my simple set-up. Now to figure out which shop to sell them to…

Wield the power of commentary!
